From Darwin to Hitler (Audio)
Were Hitler's ideas motivated by Darwinism?
Richard Weikart argues that Darwinism played a key role in the rise of eugenics, euthanasia, infanticide, abortion, and racial extermination - all ultimately embraced and enforced by the Nazis.
Richard Weikart is best known for his books "From Darwin to Hitler" (2004) and "Hitler's Ethic: The Nazi Pursuit of Evolutionary Progress" (2009). His work focuses on the impact of Darwinism on social thought, ethics and morality. Weikart is the Chair of the History Department at the University of California, Stanislaus.
